Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage’s mission is to preserve and showcase the automotive industry.
  • Stewart represented Mobil 1’s 50th Anniversary on his black and gold Top Fuel Dragster for their second race as primary sponsor this season (Pomona was the first race).

“This was a very challenging weekend, to say the least. We shouldn’t have put ourselves in the position of needing to qualify for the event in Q4. I wanted to have a good showing for Mobil 1. They are a great partner and have been with us for a really long time on the sprint car and SHR (Stewart-Haas Racing) side of things. I’m really proud of Matt Hagan and the JHG crew for getting the win today. We will look ahead to Las Vegas.”

“This win was really special. We’re trying to build great relationships with our partners. We have really great partners with Dodge in our Hellcat Funny Car. I’ve been with them almost 15 years and won four championships with them. We had JHG on the car and had Andy Ross from American Rebel at the race. He got to headline at Fan Fest and perform there to kick off the weekend. It’s all about building relationships. Jason (Johnson – JHG) has been a big supporter of ours, even back to the DSR days. He believes in us and pushes us forward. I was on the chip and chewing on my mouthpiece. I love (Ron) Capps, but I was ready to cut his head off. I’m just like ‘Let’s Go.’ You feel like you’re going in like a gladiator. This is kind of like rodeo stuff. You get in this crazy machine and you never know what it’s going to do. It’s really awesome to get the win for Jason and Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage. Life is about people and the relationships are what really matter.”

The next event on the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series schedule is the NHRA Nationals Oct. 31-Nov. 3 at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It is the fifth event in the Countdown to the Championship and the second-to-last race of the season.
