EPPING, N.H. (May 27, 2025) – Daniel Wilkerson and the SCAG Power Equipment Ford Mustang Funny Car team are primed to make a bold statement at the 12th annual NHRA New England Nationals at New England Dragway.
Wilkerson and the SCAG Ford team will be aiming to rebound from a challenging outing at the Route 66 NHRA Nationals near Chicago. Wilkerson qualified No. 12 off a solid pass from Friday but struggled the rest of the weekend that ended with a first-round exit. The SCAG Mustang sits seventh in the points standings off the efforts of a runner-up finish at the Winternationals in Pomona, California and a career best No. 3 qualifying effort in Charlotte for the Four-Wide Nationals.
“I’m really excited to get back to racing so we can redeem ourselves after a disappointing Joliet appearance at Route 66 Raceway. We ran really well at Epping last year so I’m excited to get back there so our whole team can remind everyone not to sleep on this SCAG Power Equipment Mustang,” Wilkerson said. “We got close to the team’s best run with that 3.84 at Charlotte, so hopefully we can ride the lobster claw Friday night with a new personal best.”
At New England Dragway in 2024, Wilkerson qualified fourth, a career best at the time, and raced his way to the semifinals falling short to now reigning world champion Austin Prock. This year he’ll hope to kick things off with the No. 1 Clawifier Award for being low of the Friday night session, which will earn the entire team a lobster dinner.
Competition at the NHRA New England Nationals at New England Dragway begins with qualifying Friday at 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., followed by Saturday sessions at 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Eliminations start Sunday at 11:00 a.m. Television coverage will be on FOX Sports 1 (FS1), with qualifying shows Friday at 6:30 p.m. ET and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. ET. Eliminations will air on FOX Broadcasting Network (FOX) Sunday at 6:00 p.m. ET.
