CONCORD, N.C. (April 23, 2025) – Justin Ashley, driver of the SCAG Power Equipment Toyota Top Fuel dragster, is set to compete at the American Rebel Light NHRA 4-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway, just outside of Charlotte. As the defending event champion, Ashley is determined to capitalize on his team’s proven success and deliver a strong performance for SCAG Racing and local sponsor RCN Capital.
“Returning to zMAX Dragway as the defending event champions adds another layer of intrigue into the weekend,” Ashley said. “Winning one race is special, but capitalizing on the unique opportunity to win two years in a row is a major accomplishment. There’s no better time than the present to make that happen.”
Through the first four events of the Mission Foods NHRA Drag Racing Series 20-race season, Ashley has had two first round and one quarterfinal exit before he reached the final quad at the Las Vegas Four-Wide event just two weeks ago and earned semifinal points. The SCAG Toyota team is currently sitting eight in the Top Fuel points standings.
“Although we’ve struggled more than expected earlier on, things will change for the better shortly,” Ashley noted. “Every championship team has to go through a brief period of struggle, and that’s exactly what we are: a championship team. I am so proud to work with the best in the business, from Mike Green to Tommy DeLago, Dustin Davis, and everyone in between on our SCAG Power Equipment Toyota team.”
RCN Capital, a Connecticut-based company that has expanded into the Charlotte market, will be more prominently featured on the dragster for this weekend’s event. Ashley and his SCAG Toyota team are motivated to shine in front of RCN’s employees and guests as they join the SCAG dealers in the SCAG Racing hospitality.
