JOLIET, Ill. (May 14, 2025) – Justin Ashley, driver of the SCAG Power Equipment Toyota Top Fuel dragster, will be eager to impress at this weekend’s Gerber Collision and Glass Route 66 Nationals at Route 66 Raceway, just outside Chicago. As the closest event to SCAG’s parent company, Metalcraft of Mayville’s headquarters in Mayville, Wisconsin, thousands of employees in addition to local dealers will be onsite throughout the weekend.

“This is our most meaningful race of the year,” Ashley said. “We’ll have dealers, distributors, and hundreds of employees from Metalcraft of Mayville and SCAG Power Equipment in attendance with us. The sea of Cats Eye Gold sitting in the stands represents the heartbeat of SCAG Racing. They are the employees that have welcomed us into the SCAG family with open arms and work incredibly hard to make all of this possible. We are grateful for them and want to express our appreciation by having a successful weekend both on and off the racetrack.”

Ashley is looking to kick off the second quarter of the Mission Foods NHRA Drag Racing Series season with momentum. Through the first five events on the 20-race schedule, Ashley had two first round and one quarterfinal exit before he reached back-to-back final quads at the Las Vegas and Charlotte Four-Wide events earning semifinal and runner-up points, respectively. The SCAG Toyota team currently sits sixth in the Top Fuel standings.

“I am very eager to get back into the racecar for an action-packed weekend at Route 66 Raceway,” said Ashley who is looking for his first win at Route 66 Raceway. “We are now into the second quarter of the season and want to ensure it begins the right way. First, by welcoming our newest teammate, Randy Couture, to the SCAG Racing family. Secondly, by turning on win lights during the Mission Foods Challenge on Saturday and then Sunday for the race itself. The field is full, and the competition is tough, but our SCAG Power Equipment Toyota Gazoo Racing team is ready for the challenge.”

Friday, ahead of qualifying, SCAG Racing will be unveiling the SCAG Power Equipment Pro Modified car that will be driven by MMA legend, six-time UFC champion and Hall of Famer, Randy Couture. The addition of a Pro Mod program was announced April 13. Couture is set to make his competition debut at the NHRA Virginia Nationals, June 20-22.

The SCAG Power Equipment Toyota Top Fuel team is poised to deliver a strong performance in front of their passionate supporters, aiming to make a statement both in the Mission Foods Challenge and the main event, the Route 66 Nationals. With a full field of fierce competitors, Ashley and his team are prepared to battle for victory.

Competition at the Gerber Collision and Glass NHRA Route 66 Nationals at Route 66 Raceway kicks off with four sessions of qualifying Friday at 2:00 and 4:30 p.m. and Saturday at noon and 2:30 p.m. Eliminations will begin Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Television coverage of the event will be on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) with qualifying shows Friday at 9:30 p.m. ET and Sunday at 11 a.m. ET.
