INDIANAPOLIS (March 27, 2023) – NHRA officials announced the addition of Mike Eames as the Division Director of the Northwest Division (Division 6), where he will oversee NHRA member tracks in Alaska, Alberta (Can.), British Columbia (Can.), Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.
Prior to being named NHRA Division Director, Eames served as the General Manager at Rocky Mountain Raceways, where he worked closely with racers, sponsors and staff. Rocky Mountain Raceways was awarded NHRA Division 7 Track of the Year in 2018, due in large part to Eames’ management and leadership.
“I’ve fortunately been in drag racing since birth and my first job was handing out ET Slips at the old Bonneville Raceways when I was 13,” Eames explained. “NHRA drag racing is filled with some of the most amazing people I know. I am looking forward to working with all the racers, member tracks and sponsors in the Land of the Leaders in Division 6!”
Along with his time at Rocky Mountain Raceways, Eames also has spent time in the NHRA announcer’s booth at NHRA divisional and national events.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Mike to the NHRA Division Director team,” said Josh Peterson, NHRA Vice President of Racing Administration. “His knowledge of the sport, as well as his experience running a facility, make him a great addition to our team and we’re excited to see him work alongside the racers and member tracks in his region.”
Eames joins a team of division directors who oversee the seven NHRA divisions throughout the United States and internationally.
The Northwest Division sees several Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events throughout the season, as well as the Flav-R-Pac NHRA Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways in Seattle as part of the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series.
