LAS VEGAS (Oct. 29, 2025) – Racing legend Tony Stewart returns to the site of his first NHRA Top Fuel victory this weekend (Oct. 30-Nov. 2) at the Dodge NHRA Nevada National presented by Direct Connection when he drives his Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) Rush Truck Centers Dodge//SRT Top Fuel dragster seeking a third 2025 Top Fuel win.
Stewart comes to the Strip at LVMS this weekend looking to add to his impressive 2025 record in the 20-race NHRA Mission national drag racing tour with two wins and eight straight semifinal finishes. Stewart is currently sixth in the NHRA Mission Top Fuel point standings after 18 races of the 20-event NHRA Mission Drag Racing Series.
The NASCAR Hall of Famer has advanced to six final appearances this year and recorded his first Top Fuel win in April at Las Vegas in NHRA Four-Wide Nationals and then took win No. 2 at Joliet, Ill., in May with a stellar performance in the final round over Justin Ashley.
With the Las Vegas victory, Stewart, the NASCAR Hall of Famer, became the first driver to win pro events in four different professional racing disciplines (NASCAR, IndyCar, USAC and NHRA), and not has to be listed as one of the most versatile and winning drivers in auto racing history.
Stewart’s crew, led by Neal Strausbaugh and Mike Domagala, “Smoke” won the NHRA Mission Regular Season Top Fuel points championship and now battles for the coveted “Countdown to the Championship” title with two races remaining.
“It’s always great to return to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and now after my first Top Fuel win that place is so special,” said Stewart. “I have won races at every track at LVMS including The Strip, the Speedway, the dirt track and the Bullring. The win in April was a great thrill because the team had been working so hard to get that elusive first win. Then winning at Joliet was great too. I would love to get back to the winner’s circle this weekend.
“I think it’s awesome that Dodge is sponsoring the NHRA Nevada Nationals. It’s important to the brand and it’s important to keep the Dodge name out in front of everyone, especially in the drag racing space of motorsports. They’ve always been a kingpin and been pivotal in drag racing, so it’s important to have them here.”
Stewart’s TSR Dodge//SRT teammate, four-time NHRA Funny Car World Champion Matt Hagan, comes to the Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals in search of his third 2025 NHRA national event win with his TSR American Rebel Light Beer Dodge//SRT Hellcat machine after winning the NHRA Northwest Nationals and Midwest Nationals. The Virginia driver has 54 career NHRA Funny Car wins.
Hagan currently ranks second in the NHRA Mission Funny Car points heading to Las Vegas this weekend as Matt seeks a sixth win at The Strip after taking the Nevada Nationals titles in 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2022 and the Four-Wide Nationals in 2023. Hagan has been to the final round at a Las Vegas NHRA race on ten occasions.
“I’m proud of Mike Knudsen (Hagan’s crew chief) for this being his first year as crew chief and sitting second in points. It’s more than I expected our first year out with him making all the calls, so it’s a testament to the people we have around us. We’ve done a good job at putting ourselves in the position to battle for the championship. We have to rise to the occasion.
“Being able to win in Vegas is always big, especially in the Countdown. We’ve had a lot of success there. We’re halfway to Denver there with the altitude and air, so it’s sometimes tough to make power. But we always seem to do a good job with that in our Dodge//SRT Hellcat. We’ll also have the SEMA Show coming up after the NHRA Nevada Nationals. It will be a long week in Vegas and I’m looking forward to it. Let’s go win a race.”
The nitro competition for the upcoming Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals presented by Direct Connection gets underway on Friday (Oct. 31, “Nevada Day”) with two qualifying rounds set for 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. PDT, followed by Saturday’s (Nov. 1) qualifying sessions at 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. PDT. The final eliminations will begin on Sunday (Nov. 2) at 11 a.m. PST with the national telecast scheduled for 5 p.m. EST/ 2 p.m. PST on the FOX Sports 1 Network.
