Monroe, IL – September 28, 2025 – Bob Tasca III and the Tasca Racing team delivered a strong showing at the NHRA Midwest Nationals at World Wide Technology Raceway, advancing to the quarterfinals with the Motorcraft Quick Lane Nitro Mustang Dark Horse Funny Car.

Qualifying began with a challenge on Friday when Tasca’s Mustang overpowered the track in Q1, resulting in a tire-smoking 4.348 ET at 209.49 mph. The team rebounded in Q2 with a blistering 3.877 run at 337.33 mph, propelling them into the No. 4 qualifying position heading into Saturday.

Saturday’s sessions showcased the team’s growing consistency. A smooth 3.960 at 327.90 mph in Q3 and a 3.964 at 326.08 mph in Q4 secured the No. 4 spot for eliminations, setting up a highly anticipated first-round matchup with Ron Capps.

On race day, Tasca powered to a 3.933 at 329.67 mph to defeat Capps and advance to round two. In the quarterfinals, however, Tasca fell victim to a hole shot loss against Chad Green. Despite clocking a quicker 3.966 at 328.62 mph, Green’s starting line advantage carried him to the win with a 4.007 at 326.56 mph.

“We had the car to win today, no question about it.” said Tasca, “The boys gave me a Mustang that could run with anybody out here, and I flat out missed the tree.”

The Tasca Racing team now turns its focus to the Texas Fall Nationals in Dallas, the next stop on the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series tour, looking to carry forward the momentum of their consistent performance and strong qualifying efforts.
