INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 7, 2022) – Tickets are on sale for the prestigious 69th annual Dodge Power Brokers NHRA U.S. Nationals, as the world’s biggest drag race is set to take place Aug. 30-Sept. 4 during the 2023 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.

The tradition-rich event puts drag racing on its grandest stage, serving as the final event of the regular season during the 2023 campaign. Loaded with prestige, the Dodge Power Brokers NHRA U.S. Nationals has an illustrious history dating nearly seven decades, making it the race every competitor wants to win. The 2023 version promises to be one of the biggest in the legendary history at the Big Go, with intense action across several categories and a number of specialty events, including the Pep Boys NHRA Funny Car All-Star Callout.

It all adds up to another memorable weekend that can’t be missed as race teams look to pick up a legacy-making victory on drag racing’s biggest stage.

“It was exciting to see the prestigious Dodge Power Brokers NHRA U.S. Nationals return to tradition this year with eliminations on Labor Day Monday and a must-see nitro specialty race during the weekend, and it’s great to see that continue for the 2023 event,” said NHRA Vice President of Track Management & Operations, Kasey Coler. “We’re approaching 70 years of incredible action at the world’s biggest drag race and we’re looking forward to another unbelievable race next year at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park that fans will surely not want to miss.”

Antron Brown (Top Fuel), Ron Capps (Funny Car), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock), and Matt Smith (Pro Stock Motorcycle) won last year’s event which was loaded with thrilling storylines. All four professional categories will be in action in 2023, and the race will again be broadcast on FOX and Fox Sports 1 and include extensive television coverage throughout the event. The event will also feature standouts in the FuelTech NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by D-Wagon and Constant Aviation Factory Stock Showdown.

The weekend also includes the thrilling Pep Boys Funny Car All-Star Callout, a must-see specialty race featuring eight top stars in the 11,000-horsepower nitro category. The unique shootouts returned to Indy in 2022, with Ron Capps taking the victory over Matt Hagan in Funny Car. The defending world champion then added his first career U.S. Nationals victory a day later, capping off one of the most memorable weekends in his spectacular career.

This year’s callout event takes place Sunday, Sept. 3, as the Funny Car teams will utilize a call-out format with the No. 1 seed getting their first choice of opponent. Other special events taking place include the Dodge HEMI Challenge and much more.

The 2022 U.S. Nationals were also noteworthy in Pro Stock, as Greg Anderson picked up his seventh Indy victory, the most among active drivers in the class, also giving the five-time world champ his 100th career victory. In Top Fuel, Antron Brown won at the Big Go for the first time in more than a decade, while the 2022 Indy win marked Matt Smith’s first win at the prestigious race since 2006.

Tony Schumacher, who returned to full-time action in 2022, has been a dominant performer at Indy over the years, with his 10 victories the most among any NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series competitor. Funny Car legend John Force’s five wins are tied for the most in class history and in Pro Stock Motorcycle, Angelle Sampey and Eddie Krawiec both have three victories to lead active riders at the historic event.
