TROY COUGHLIN JR. AND JEGS.COM TEAM READY TO REPEAT VICTORY AT NHRA NEW ENGLAND NATIONALS

By: Elite Motorsports

EPPING, N.H. (May 28, 2025) – Troy Coughlin Jr. and his Elite Motorsports JEGS.com Pro Stock team are primed to deliver a second consecutive standout performance at New England Dragway as they enter this weekend’s NHRA New England Nationals as the defending event champions.

“The team at Elite Motorsports has been working tirelessly since we left Charlotte. From long hours in the engine shop to the detailed maintenance on each car, every member of this group is fully committed to excellence,” Troy Jr. said. “It’s truly impressive to witness the dedication and effort that goes into this team. Their relentless drive pushes me to bring my absolute best every time I strap in and let the clutch out.”

A third-generation racer from the storied Coughlin family, Troy Jr. has a strong history at New England Dragway, highlighted by his 2024 win against Elite Motorsports teammate and six-time world champion Erica Enders. The win was the fifth of his Pro Stock career and first at the facility. He also had a semifinal appearance at New England Dragway in 2023.

“Winning in Epping last year was definitely a great moment, the track has so much east coast drag racing history, but what truly sets this team apart is our consistent team morale and positive attitude. Even when things aren’t going our way, the spirit within this group never wavers.” Troy Jr. added. “We’re ready to put our best foot forward this weekend.”

Troy Jr. kicked off 2025 with a win at the specialty pre-season PRO Superstar Shootout at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Florida. He followed it up with a No. 6 qualifier and quarterfinal finish at the NHRA season-opening Gatornationals and a No. 5 qualifying spot at the Arizona Nationals. Sitting 13th in the points standings, Troy Jr. is looking for Sunday win-lights and a long race day.

“My mindset has remained steady since the start of the season—consistency continues to be my top priority,” Troy Jr. said. “As the year progresses, it’s all about staying focused on the process: being comfortable in the car, and delivering fast, accurate runs both on the starting line and the 1320. Elite Motorsports is putting in the work daily. Once we get some momentum, our confidence will take us the rest of the way.”

Joining Troy Jr. under the Elite Motorsports banner at the NHRA New England Nationals are Erica Enders, who is looking for her third victory at the facility in her Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage / Melling Performance / SCAG Power Equipment hot rod; five-time Pro Stock champion Jeg Coughlin Jr., who is looking for his first win at the facility in his SCAG machine; 2021 event winner Aaron Stanfield in his JHG / Melling / Janac Brothers ride and Pro Stock veteran Greg Stanfield in the Janac Brothers car.

Competing amongst the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series racers is Royce Lee Freeman in Comp and in the JHG Mountain Motor Pro Stock Series Mike Coughlin will take on race two of eight.
