LEXINGTON, Ohio. (July 3, 2025) – Rookie driver Louis Foster comes to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend (July 4-6) looking for more after his stunning Road America pole position two weeks ago in the No. 45 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Droplight Honda race car.

Foster, the 21-year-old racer from Odiham, England, turned in a spectacular performance at the four-mile road course in Wisconsin by winning his first No.1 qualifying position in just his ninth NTT INDYCAR SERIES event. The personable competitor enjoyed a hug from co-team owner and motorsports legend Bobby Rahal following the pole in the 90-plus degree temperatures.

Now, the British star looks to improve on his 11th place finish at Road America this weekend in the HONDA INDY 200 AT MID-OHIO with his boss, Rahal, as Grand Marshal of the exciting ninth race in the 17-event national open-wheel campaign.

Foster is a former INDY NXT champion (2024) and former race winner (2023) at the famed 2.258-mile, 13-turn Ohio race circuit as he prepares for his first NTT INDYCAR SERIES start at the historic track.

“Obviously, it was super cool to win my first pole at Road America and I’m proud to be able to do that for the RLL boys,” said Foster. “I think the biggest thing for me about that is just showing how well the guys were able to put the Droplight Honda back together. They didn’t have a lot of time to turn it around and they did a really good job. Like I said at the time, the pole is dedicated to them for all the hard work that they’ve been doing.

“The pole wasn’t something that I expected to do in my rookie season. Deep down I thought it was doable, especially after our performance at the road courses. I think we’ve got a very strong package on the road courses right now.”

Foster knows the conditions, like at Road America, will be hot and tough on the most demanding road circuit on the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. But the rookie is set for another strong showing when practice begins on Friday (July 4) at 4:30 p.m. EDT.

“We’ve reviewed Road America, we know what to do better,” explained Foster. “It’s all about executing and applying that knowledge. It’s going to be hot. It will be just as hot as Road America and it’s twice as physical. Everyone has to deal with it. You’ve got to be hydrated, make sure you’re fit and healthy. I hope we have a good qualifying round. I think that’s going to be the key factor for the race initially and then make sure we execute for the race. We will all work hard to make sure we can realistically bring home a solid top 10 or top five results. That needs to be our target from now on until the rest of the year.”

The HONDA INDYCAR 200 AT MID-OHIO opens action on Friday, July 4, with the first round of practice at 4:30 p.m. EDT followed by practice round 2 on Saturday, July 5, at 10:30 a.m. EDT. Qualifying runs and the Firestone Fast Six begin at 2:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday. The 90-lap, 203.22-mile feature event is set to start at 1 p.m. EDT on Sunday, July 6.

The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course event will be televised live on Sunday on the FOX Network at 1 p.m. EDT.
