DALLAS (October 29, 2025) — In one of the most special episodes of ‘Talkin’ Funny Cars with Buddy Hull’ to date, host Buddy Hull continues season 2 by sitting down with his team owner, “Big Jim” Dunn, one of the true legends of NHRA drag racing. The episode premieres this Wednesday, October 29, at 8 p.m. ET and 8 p.m. PT on the NHRA FAST Channel.
With an incredible 75 years in racing, Jim Dunn’s name is synonymous with passion, longevity and dedication to the sport. In this heartfelt conversation, Dunn shares how he first got started behind the wheel, reflects on his decades as both a driver and team owner, and talks about some of his favorite drivers over the years. He also discusses how the sport has evolved, both for better and for worse, and what it meant to him to be honored as a NHRA Legend last year. Viewers will also hear how racing with his family continues to fuel his love for competition.

“I’ve been blessed to be part of drag racing for a long time,” said Dunn. “It’s changed a lot over the years, but the people, the fans, and the love for the sport, that’s what keeps me going. It’s been great having Buddy as part of the team and getting to share some of my stories with everyone watching.”
For Buddy Hull, this episode is particularly personal. As the current driver of the Jim Dunn Racing Funny Car, Hull emphasizes that the stories fans will hear in this episode are the same ones he’s been privileged to hear in the trailer over the past two years, a glimpse into the wisdom, humor and history that make Jim Dunn one of the sport’s most respected figures.
“Getting to drive for Big Jim has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” said Hull. “He’s lived through every era of this sport and has the kind of stories you just don’t hear anymore. Sharing those with fans is something I’ll never forget.”

NHRA fans can watch the episode on the NHRA FAST Channel, available free on 13 platforms including The Roku Channel (USA & Canada), Tubi, Samsung TV Plus, Sling Freestream and others. After the show airs on Wednesday, it will be uploaded to the Talkin’ Funny Cars with Buddy Hull YouTube channel.
Every Wednesday throughout the rest of the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season, a new episode of Talkin’ Funny Cars with Buddy Hull will air at 8 p.m. EST and 8 p.m. PST. Future guests will include Tim Wilkerson, Mike Neff and more.
