NHRA NORTHWEST NATIONALS: ELITE MOTORSPORTS RESULTS

By: Elite Motorsports (Photos Courtesy Elite Motorsports)

GREG STANFIELD, Janac Brothers Racing
Qualifying: No. 5
6.487 seconds, 211.43 mph
Race Results: Beat Aaron Stanfield, Cody Anderson, Dallas Glenn; Lost to Greg Anderson

Notable:

  • Back-to-back final round appearances
  • Won #2Fast2Tasty Challenge on Saturday

Quotes: “I think this past two races, the Western Swing here in Seattle and last weekend in Sonoma, has been really good for the Elite Motorsports team as a whole. Obviously, my car has been really good the past two races, we’ve been consistent,” Stanfield said. “The driver just let the team down in that final round today. Maybe got up a little too much for Mr. Greg Anderson, but all in all, I’m happy with the weekend. I’m still bummed I went red and let this Janac Brothers Racing team down. Disappointing for all our sponsors, but it was a good showing and we’re headed in the right direction at the right time, I think. We’ll just keep moving forward and keep looking for those positive changes.”

ERICA ENDERS, Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage / Melling Performance / R+L Carriers
Qualifying: No. 11
6.505 seconds at 210.24 mph
Race Results: Beat Eric Latino, Jeg Coughlin Jr.; Lost to Greg Anderson

Notable:

  • Fourth semi-final finish of the season
  • Coming off a runner-up finish at the Sonoma Nationals

Quotes: “You know, I’m pretty proud of our performance on the swing, with a final round in Sonoma and the semifinal today, Greg leading the team with back-to-back finals and that win in Sonoma,” Enders said. “Definitely some big strides in the right direction, but to have those wins slip through my fingers two weeks in a row is pretty frustrating. I could’ve and should’ve won Sonoma, and all we had to do here at Pacific Raceways is get down the racetrack clean and we’re in the finals with my teammate again. As Richard Freeman says, ‘If the crickets had pistols the birds wouldn’t mess with them.’ But, we did a great job. I’m feeling pretty good driving well. And I’m looking forward to the continued turnaround in Brainerd in a few weeks.”
